8 Ways To Keep Visitors At Your Web Site

Mar-09-2007

8 Ways To Keep Visitors At Your Web Site Longer

The more time people spend at your Web site, the more time you'll have to convince them of the benefits of your product or service. Below are my 8 tips on keeping visitors at your web site longer:

1. Be creative and original: Publish content they cannot get anywhere else. Good keywords will bring visitors to your site and good content and professional design will keep them there.

2. Loading speed: Make sure all your web pages load fast or your visitors will leave fast.

3. Samples & Examples: Show them what you have done for other clients. Make them want to part of the network.

4. Be clear and specific: Tell them what you do and what action you want them to take. If people are confused about what's being offered they will leave your site early.

5. Quality Content: If most people go to your Web site for content, make sure it comes up to their expectations. People will soon be turned off if they see too many mistakes or awkward phrasing.

It might be handy for you to know that CleverLinknow offers a professional writing service. Feel free to check this out on our Web site.

6. Balance in Design: Make sure your web site has a good balance of text and images to retain attention, plus good use of font and colour. We've all seen those sites where the font is unreadable or the colour combination makes it almost painful to look at the screen! Most people won't strain their eyes on text that is too small, too fancy or a Web site that is either too bright or too dark.

7. Chunking: Use headlines, headings and sub headings on each page of your web site. This will grab visitors
' attention. Again, good writing is essential.

8. Moving Pictures: Depending on your business - a video or audio clip can say a thousand words This is so true! A sample of our work with video clips is available for you to experience here: http://www.massageandbeautycruise.com.au/ http://www.kellyspeech.com.au/

Gaining trust from online customers

CleverTips: Gaining trust from online customers

Make your visitors feel comfortable at your website. Give them your main business address and your ABN. Your visitors may not trust you if you're using a P.O. Box address alone. If you want to make them feel really comfortable, give them as much info about your business as you can.

People will not do business on websites that are badly designed, contain no phone number, no business address, etc. If you would like to recieve credit card payment via your website, trust is even more critical.

Excellent Tool Found!

A few weeks ago, I sent you a CleverTip about management tools and shared with you a document to read. I am glad that many of you enjoyed the document. Sorry that the link didn't work because I used one of my new tools to send you the tips.

This new tool can do many tricks but it didn't allow me to use capital letter in the file name (a minor thing)

Anyway, it is a brilliant tool which can manage e-newsletters, e-survey, Web content management, customer database, etc.

CleverLink will give a presentation about this Online Management Tools on 26 April 2007 in Wollongong. Watch out for our future invitation

International Women's Day

As the SBR Business Woman of the Year 2005, I decided to host a dinner next Thursday to celebrate the International Women's Day. You are invited to join me and many people on the night.

CleverTips: Keeping a Journal

If you're serious about your personal and professional development - keep a journal!
When you have an idea, write it down. When you come across something important, write it down.
Draw pictures, flow charts, mind mapping, etc. Do whatever you like to express yourself.

Take the time to write and to keep a journal. You'll be glad you did.

Sharpen Your Tools and Get Ready For the Big Year

Feb-02-2007

Sharpen Your Tools and Get Ready For the Big Year
The tools you have in your toolbox and the techniques you use will partly determine how fast you are going to achieve your goals. Of course, a positive attitude is the most powerful catalyst when it comes to mental fitness, but the right set of tools can help you to realise your dream much quicker.

Your tools can be comprised of your motivation, methods, systems, skills, contacts, and so on. Take a long, hard look at the tools you use. Are you using tools or techniques that are no longer of benefit to you? The best craftspeople usually have the best tools, and they spend the time to sharpen their tools.

I personally have spent a good chunk of time in January to clear out my space (yet there is still more to do). I gave away some good items that I think other people may appreciate and have thrown out many things that either need replacing or are no longer useful to me. It is good to have some clear space and to make room for the new. This week, I also asked my team to list the tools they need to do their job effectively and we will update our tool box at CleverLinkso that we can be more effective with our work.

Clear environment can give you a fresh perspective and help you focus.

(On another topic. I had the privilege to give a short speech at the Australia Day Award Dinner last week in Wollongong. The topic was "Why Australia - Why Wollongong" - More info is available here.)

Visual Communication - A winning tool for YOU and YOUR BUSINESS

Jan-19-2007

I trust you have had a good break and enjoyed your holidays. I wish you all success in 2007.!

Most of us are more focused on our verbal and written communication.

I would like to encourage and challenge you to pay more attention to VISUAL communication skills.

Here are 8 benefits of how EFFECTIVE Visual Communication can help YOU and YOUR BUSINESS:

1. Making a positive impression and holding readers attention: A well laid out brochure or resume WILL get read.

2. Gaining respect: Yes - a good design and layout can convey professionalism.

3. Creating "BUY" emotion: How many of us "get sold" by emotion? Too many!

4. Generating FOCUS: A professional brochure, web site or invitation can make people focus on what you are trying to convey.

5. Creating good memories: A good logo can jump out to get people's attention and can sink into their mind and stays there.

6. Tempting and referring: Badly designed marketing material usually ends up in the bin before it gets read. Good design stays and get passed around.

7. Calling for DECISION and ACTIONS: Visual power is enormous - it can generate desire, call for actions and kill procrastination

8. Achieving your intension: Visual communication can help you achieve the above 7 points and of course - your ultimate goals.

Visit our graphic design services for more tips on visual communication: logo design, brochure design, business card design, banner design
